Description: Desert Dance Theatre hosts a Shake Your Buddhi: Master Class in Modern Dance Technique by Billbob Brown on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 12:30pm-2:15pm at Dance Theater West, 3925 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ. The class will focus on techniques to help expand your range of motion, and integrate your inner beauty with outer expression. This intense intermediate level class emphasizes full directional upper and lower body movement.
Billbob Brown is a founding member of Desert Dance Theatre, and former Artistic Director, who has returned to the Valley to set new works on the dance company for its 30th Anniversary Reunion Celebration. Description: Desert Dance Theatre celebrates 30 years of dance in Arizona. This event will bring back some nostalgic memories as well as introduce new works and collaborations. Dancing into the future with exciting collaborations and special guest artists.
The celebration will take place at the Tempe Center for the Arts Theater, 700 West Rio Salado Parkway, Tempe on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 7:30pm. The performance will feature choreography by Laurie Eisenhower, Phyllis Haskell, Marion Kirk Jones, Billbob Brown, Step Raptis and Lisa R. Chow. The company will premiere a new work in collaboration with New York guitarist, Chieli Minucci from Special EFX and Arizona sculpture artist, John Henry Waddell. Another premiere work will feature a collaboration with visual artist, Gary Hostellero with original music by Step Raptis.
