I would like to invite you to participate in the upcoming Arizona Dance Festival (ADF) that will take place at Tempe Center for the Arts Studio on October 7-9, 2010. The festival will give you or your company great exposure, and it’s a fun way to share your art with colleagues from around the state and guests from out of state.

The Arizona Dance Festival is open to individuals and emerging artist groups as well as professional companies from all genres and styles of dance. Up to 15 dance slots per night will be selected to be performed. The applicant works will be adjudicated by a diverse panel of judges that are highly knowledgeable about dance.

Here’s how to apply:

You must submit the following by Friday, July 23, 2010:

1. ADF application form
2. Submission form
3. Audition VHS Video/DVD
4. $25 non-refundable application fee ($10 per additional audition pieces)

The audition VHS/DVD must be the work that you are planning to show that has not been seen in any major Metro-Phoenix venues in the past 4 months or work that is representative of your current repertory with your current dance members.

If selected, you must sign a letter of agreement and pay a participation fee of $150 per dance up to a maximum of 10 minutes. This fee will go towards facility, production and publicity expenses.

Applications can be downloaded from www.DesertDanceTheatre.org. If you have any questions, contact me at 480-962-4584 or at LRChow@cox.net.

We are anticipating an exciting program this upcoming season and hope you can participate.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA (2010) – As part of National Dance Week, Celebration of Dance presents its 11th Annual performances on May 1, May 2, and June 19 in Phoenix and N. Scottsdale. With 30 groups participating among the three show times, audiences will be treated to an evening of more than 20 performances representing a wide variety of dance styles, showcasing the talent of Arizona’s growing performing arts scene and it’s cultural diversity.

Purpose: beginning end of April National Dance Week is honored with nationwide dance events, a far-reaching awareness campaign designed to bring greater recognition to dance as an art form. For the past 11 years, Arizona has participated in this grass roots effort through a multi-disciplined production, Celebration of Dance. Produced by Golden Lion Productions, Celebration of Dance showcases the talents of numerous performing arts groups and soloists, in a variety of dance styles, including ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern, contemporary, flamenco, classic belly dance, Indian dances, Celtic, ballroom, tap, and much more.
