Description: Dr. Cynthisa Roses-Thema, senior lecturer at Arizona Sate University’s
School of Dance, will present an all day workshop with a kinesiological
focus. She will discuss how tensegrity, a progressive way to model the
entire body in movement, impacts dance technique instruction of the 21st
century dancer. Specific issues that will be addressed are locating the
core, dynamic alignment, and rotation. In addition, Dr. Roses-Thema
will connect tensegrity to her original SPINE theory and provide
curriculum for a contemporary ballet class. Participants will receive online
documentation and supplemental material.
