ZUZI! Dance Company, School & Theater presents its fall, biannual No Frills Cheap Thrills Dance Happenin’ Show. A variety of performers throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona come to share fresh and innovative works from various stages of the creative process. The works range from serious to silly and some are presented here for the first time. This year features choreographers Josette Weibrecht from ZUZI! Dance Company, Maya Hernandez & Michael Quihuis from Arts for All, Inc., and Lee Anne Hartley from FUNHOUSE Movement Theater, among others. Performances on the ground and in the air are interspersed with the off-the-wall antics of ZUZI!’s lovable MC, Carie Schneider. 

“The ‘No Frills’ concert has come to serve two important purposes,” says ZUZI!’s Artistic and Executive Director, Nanette Robinson. “It has become a popular venue for showcasing youth performers, schools, and youth choreography and it continues to be venue for local choreographers to take creative risks with new work.” The show has been described as an open mic for dance and is a unique opportunity to perform in a relaxed setting. As the name suggests, there are no frills—no fancy lights, no fancy sets—just dancers, choreographers, and experimentation.
