Ballet Arizona is proud to celebrate the color\, passion\, and vibrancy of Juan Gabriel. \nAdding to the passion of the music and choreography will be costumes masterfully designed by Mexico City-based designer and fashion house\, Carla Fernández. Through her designs and work\, Carla Fernández strives to preserve and revitalize the textile legacy of indigenous and mestizo communities of Mexico. She maintains a passion for sustainability and equity through manual methods of production with a vision to prove that ethical fashion can be innovative\, avant-garde and progressive. \n5-8 de mayo de 2022\nen Symphony Hall \nEsta producción es el esperado estreno mundial del ballet inspirado por la música del legendario cantante y compositor mexicano Juan Gabriel. Canalizando la intensidad y el compromiso de Juan Gabriel a su arte en escena\, Ballet Arizona rinde homenaje a este legendario intérprete que transcendió fronteras y generaciones\, capturando los corazones de millones de personas en todo el mundo. \nA la pasión de la música y la coreografía se suma el vestuario magistralmente diseñado por la diseñadora y modista Carla Fernández\, con sede en la Ciudad de México. SUMMARY:Southwest Ballet Theatre presents Sleeping Beauty
DESCRIPTION:Southwest Ballet Theatre presents Sleeping Beauty May 5-8 at Estrella Mountain Community College’s Performing Arts Center\, 3000 N. Dysart Road\, Avondale. Artistic direction and choreography (after Marius Petipa) by Tasha Stramecki.   Students 18 and under are $18; adults $26.  House opens 30 minutes prior to curtain.  Tickets are available online at https://swbtballet.org/sb_22/. \nThursday\, May 5\, 7pm \nFriday\, May 6\, 7pm \nSaturday\, May 7\, 7pm \nSunday\, May 8\, 2pm \nThe ballet will feature guest artists from around the Valley\, a select group of dancers from Grand Canyon University\, and student dancers from The School of Southwest Ballet Theatre. \nThis production is made possible\, in part\, through contributions from Desert Diamond Casino West Valley. Southwest Ballet Theatre has also received an AZ Organizational Relief Grant (ORG). Administered by the Arizona Commission on the Arts\, the AZ ORG Program directs relief funds allocated by Governor Doug Ducey from the State of Arizona’s Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds in support of arts and culture organizations across the state.
