SUMMARY:Skinner Releasing Workshop (Tucson)
DESCRIPTION:Men and women of all ages (professional dancers\, mature movers\, inexperienced dancers\, and folks that love to move in a meditative and spontaneous way) are invited to participate in this class. The use of playful and deep imagery and improvisation is incorporated and the classes build on each other. \nYour commitment to the series is a large part of the experience. \nSRT reveals the natural grace in every human being and taps into transforming states of  consciousness which awakens the Dance within and guides us in the practice of letting go; letting go of stress\, letting go of unnecessary holding in our body\, letting go of preconceptions about what is supposed to happen\, letting go of fear of awkwardness\, letting go of the belief that we somehow don’t have the “right body”. \nTactile exercises are used to give the imagery immediate physical effect in the movements of participants. \nTwo class sessions will be offered on Friday evenings from 4:30-6pm and Saturday mornings from 10-11:30am at the sYnapse at Studio Y. Session 1: January 10-February 1. Session 2: February 7-28. $120 per session or $220 for all 8 weeks.

Inspired by the scientific concept of latent heat—the energy exchanged during a change of state—each piece captures the tension\, release\, and emotional storytelling that define the human journey. Join us for an unforgettable evening where movement becomes a profound expression of connection\, growth\, and change. Witness the artistry of a new generation as they bring these themes to life. Over the course of two weekends\, Latent Heat will present fourteen distinct dance pieces\, each exploring different facets of this energetic exchange. \nContent warning: Please be advised that these performances contain adult themes\, mature content and strong language.
