DESCRIPTION:Join Convergence Ballet and Ballet Theatre of Phoenix for their Spring Performance\, May 28th\, 11am and 3pm at Arcadia High School. \nThe Spring performance features the 2nd Act of “Giselle\,” one of the most beloved scenes in ballet\, famous for its floating white spirits (Willis) performing with elegant precision. The recital also will feature a piece entitled “La Mer” portrayed by the youngest members of Ballet Theatre of Phoenix\, who will conjure images of an under water world filled with creatures of the sea. Rounding out the performance is Lander’s charming “Etudes” as dancers appear in a classroom and evolve into ever more challenging movement to delight the audience. \n \nGeneral admission seating. In addition to class\, dancers are required to prepare a ballet variation\, providing an opportunity to demonstrate their individual strengths and artistry. \nPRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. \n\nRules for the National Society of Arts and Letters 2024 Ballet Competition: \n1. Eligibility:  \na. Dancers must be between the ages of 14 and 18 at the time of the competition. \na. The competition is open to all genders. \nb. DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to have you join the legacy of young artists who are seeking enriching educational opportunities. Through the Arizona Young Artists’ Competition\, our diverse\, burgeoning creative community is given the opportunity to compete in the disciplines of Modern/Contemporary Dance\, Classical Voice\, Musical Theatre Voice\, and Acting. This competition enables young Arizona artists to experience the audition process and garner productive feedback and pertinent experience through an adjudication process led by highly esteemed arts professionals. \nAfter the preliminary auditions\, four finalists will be chosen from each discipline. These artists will be given the chance to astonish our panel of respected judges in our Arizona Young Artists’ Showcase and vie for an opportunity to bring home a $1\,500 first prize scholarship awarded to the winner of each discipline. \nAt the Showcase\, audience members will also be asked to vote for their favorite performer in all four categories to win the People’s Choice Award and take home a $100.00 prize. \nAll applicants are asked to submit a headshot to moc.liamgnull@regrebrehcaya\, at least a week before your audition.
