DESCRIPTION:Cultural Coalition and AT&T present the 12th Annual MIKIZTLI: Dia de los Muertos \nSunday\, October 29\, 2023 at 2:00pm-7:00pm\nSteele Indian School Park \nArt\, Performances & Community Altar \n3:00pm-4:00pm Lisa Chow and Step Raptis as Step’s Junk Funk will lead an interactive fun activity in the children’s area.\n4:30pm-Sunset Lisa Chow and Step Raptis will entertain the crowd as Los Katrines.\n5:00pm-Sunset Desert Dance Theatre dancers will entertain the crowd as Los Calacotes. \nwww.diadelosmuertosphx.com\n@CULTURALCOAZ \nThe Dia de los Muertos Phx Festival is interactive\, multi-generational\, and participatory. Free and open to the public\, all families are welcomed.  The festival aims to instill a sense of history\, pride and knowledge about our multicultural roots to the community at large.\n\nPresented by Cultural Coalition\, the festival features hundreds of masked entertainers with performances in music\, dance and theater to honor our ancestors and celebrate our heritage and traditions. A gathering of artists and families. Food available to purchase. Our creative modern adaptations of ancient customs such as La Mascarada\,  La Visita\, The Flight of Quetzalcoatl\, and Las Coronas\, promote our multicultural heritage while preserving our traditions.\n\n\nThe Dia de Los Muertos Phx Festival will take place at Steele Indian School Park (on 3rd Street and Indian School Rd) in Phoenix\, AZ.  The Artists Mercado features some of Arizona’s best local artists. There will also be food booths\, kids arts activities and of course\, and the traditional Candlelight Procesión. We also provide a Community Altar. SUMMARY:Once Upon A Saturday with Step's Junk Funk (Phoenix)
DESCRIPTION:Once Upon A Star invites you to join us for “Once Upon A Saturday with Step’s Junk Funk” \nSaturday\, September 2\, 2023 at 1:00pm-2:30pm \nStep’s Junk Funk is a percussion and movement art form that utilizes recycled and repurposed objects as musical instruments. Step Raptis and Lisa Chow will guide participants to create their own choreography and musical accompaniment. \nClasses are open to all children and young adults with special needs. The class is $30 and includes a small healthy snack. A participant may bring a sibling for an additional $10 to cover material costs.
