DESCRIPTION:National Society of Arts and Letters 2024 Ballet Competition\nSaturday March 2\, 2024 at 1:30pm                                     \nSouth Mountain Performing Arts \n3253 W. Baseline Road Laveen\, AZ 85339 \n\n$2\,000 in Scholarships Awarded!\nThe NSAL AZ Ballet Competition\, hosted at the South Mountain Performing Arts\, offers aspiring dancers ages 14-18\, a platform to showcase their talent and dedication to ballet. A highlight of the event is the ballet class led by the legendary\, Suzanne Farrell\, where participants undergo assessment of their technique\, guided by Farrell’s expertise and insight. In addition to class\, dancers are required to prepare a ballet variation\, providing an opportunity to demonstrate their individual strengths and artistry. \nPRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED. \n\nRules for the National Society of Arts and Letters 2024 Ballet Competition: \n1. Eligibility:  \na. Dancers must be between the ages of 14 and 18 at the time of the competition. \na. The competition is open to all genders. \nb. The competition is open to participants of all nationalities. \nc. Professional dancers are not eligible to participate. \n2. Participation Requirements: \na. Each dancer must participate in a 1.5-hour ballet class\, where they will be judged on ballet technique and their ability to understand the curriculum. \nb. Dancers must prepare a ballet variation not exceeding 2:30 \nc. Dancers must upload their music selection prior to the event. \nd. Costumes are not allowed. Dancers must wear a leotard\, tights\, and ballet slippers or pointe shoes. SUMMARY:AzDEO Student Choreography Contest 2019-2020
DESCRIPTION:AzDEO Student Choreography Contest 2019-2020\nAzDEO announces its Student Choreography Contest for 2019-2020. Students in middle\, high school\, and college are encouraged to submit their choreography for adjudication. Only the choreography will be judged\, but performance can affect the quality of the choreography. Choreographer does not have to be a performer. \nCriteria: \n\nMust be based on this year’s theme: “Making a Change: It Only Takes One” (Choose a topic/idea important to you and show in your choreography the process of how you as one person can make a change).\nMaximum length: 4 minutes.\nSubmit digitally: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Es7zCR331wqGDi8i0NTrXXTrGp6iPJ-x\n\nMP4 format only. Must include your name\, age\, school at the beginning of the video\, and a written artistic statement also submitted (include your name\, age and school).  \nChoreography Criteria: Composition\, Originality/Creativity\, Visual Effect\, Interpretation of Accompaniment \nSubmissions are due Oct. 15th\, Jan. 15th and March 15th. Each deadline date is for a new round of adjudication. Only four (4) submissions per school\, per each submission deadline are allowed: 4 in October\, 4 in January\, 4 in March. \nAzDEO will award a certificate to the student and school.

DESCRIPTION:AzDEO Student Choreography Contest 2018-19: Submission dates 10/15\, 1/15\, and 3/15 \nAzDEO is pleased to announce its Student Choreography Contest for 2018-19. Students in middle and high school\, and college are encouraged to submit their choreography for adjudication. Only the choreography will be judged\, but performance can affect the quality of the choreography. Choreographer does not have to be a performer. \nSubmission Criteria \n\nThis year’s theme is “Landmarks” ~ can be a physical location\, a “landmark moment” in your life\, a landmark moment in history\, a landmark event.\nMaximum length: 4 minutes. Must include your name\, age and school at the beginning of the clip.\nWritten artistic statement must also be included with your name\, age\, and school.\nSubmissions are due Oct. 15th\, Jan. 15th and March 15th. Each deadline date is for a new round of adjudication.\n\nChoreography Criteria \nComposition\, Originality/Creativity\, Visual Effect\, Interpretation of Accompaniment \nHow to Submit \nSubmit MP4 clip (only) digitally to the google drive link ~ https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fXreUZZPRZpMrFCn2KhHtQMcJDTLjT7c. \nLimitations \nOnly FOUR submissions per school\, per each submission deadline. Four may be submitted in October\, 4 in January\, 4 in March. \nAzDEO will award a certificate to the student and school. \n
