SUMMARY:Red Sky Performance Trace
DESCRIPTION:  \nCelebrate the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts’ 20th Anniversary opening performance with complimentary tickets! \n  \nTouring since 2003\, Red Sky Performance is a Toronto-based company of contemporary Indigenous dance\, theater and music performers under the direction of Sandra Laronde of the Teme-Augama-Anishinaabe (People of the Deep Water). Their goal is to create inspiring experiences of contemporary arts and culture that illuminate themes and values of importance to Indigenous peoples. \n  \nTrace is a highly kinetic 60-minute contemporary dance featuring 7 dancers and 3 live musicians. Inspired by Indigenous (Anishinaabe) sky and star stories\, the piece offers a glimpse into human origin as well as its future evolution. Trace premiered in the United States in August 2019 at Jacob’s Pillow and has won two Dora Mavor Moore Awards. \n  \nMade in Wickenburg Artist Residency & Open Rehearsals \nRed Sky Performance will be in residence October 24 – November 7\, 2021. While in Wickenburg\, the company will develop a new work that will tour North America. \n  \nYou are invited to watch Red Sky Performance create the new piece. Attend FREE Open Rehearsals on October 27 & November 1 from 2:30 – 5 PM at the Webb Center. Get an intimate look at their creative process and see this new dance come to life. Visit dewpac.org for more information. \n  \nResidency support provided by the RH Johnson Foundation\, National Endowment for the Arts and WESTAF \n  \nredskyperformance.com \n\n  \n\n  \nCOVID-19 Safety Protocols \nThe Webb Center is committed to providing healthy and safe facilities for audiences\, artists\, volunteers and staff.
