SUMMARY:CaZo Dance Theatre's FATE (Tempe)
DESCRIPTION:Fall In Love with Destiny Again as Fate Returns to the Stage.\nMesa\, Arizona\, September 10\, 2024 — Four years after its abrupt cancelation\, CaZo Dance Theatre is proud to announce the return of its original love story\, Fate\, premiering live at Tempe Center for the Arts on November 8 and 9\, 2024. \nFollow the journey of two young couples as they explore the intricacies of love\, life and destiny\, all told through the power of movement and dance. When Dean and Suzy-Lee meet as children\, they never thought they would one day fall in love. After Dean is drafted into the military\, their destiny’s take yet another unexpected turn. Shawn and Daisy\, meanwhile\, meet while dancing at a club\, an introduction that will change their lives forever. How these two couples deal with love\, loss\, war\, and the unexpected define the collective fate surrounding us all. \nFate marks the first time CaZo Dance Theatre will feature live musical performances during the production. Local Arizona artists Ted Jachimowiz\, Delaney Harkins\, and Chelsea Kae will play live music and sing covers for half of the songs throughout the show. \n“When we originally planned to bring Fate back in the Spring of 2020\, before COVID shut everything down\, we were going to include live vocal performances\,” says CaZo Dance Theatre’s Artistic Director Bridgette Caron Borzillo. “So\, it was only logical to include that aspect again this time around.” \nThis show also marks the first time CaZo Dance Theatre will not be presenting a dark\, horror- themed show in the fall. “We considered doing one of our usual dark shows\,” says Borzillo\, “but with our 10th anniversary coming up next year\, and our show dates falling on Veterans Day weekend\, we wanted to do something we had already worked hard on in the past and honor our military veterans at the same time. Fate was the perfect choice.” \nFate will be performed live at Tempe Center for the Arts (700 W. Rio Salado Pkwy.\, Tempe\, AZ) on Friday\, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday\, November 9 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at www.cazodance.com or on CaZo Dance Company’s official Facebook Page. Prices are $28 for general audiences\, $20 for students and military\, $55 for VIP (limited quantities)\, and $22 for virtual tickets. \n“Everyone was devastated when we had to cancel the show a couple of weeks before its premiere four years ago. I’m so happy we’re now in a place to bring this show back to the stage with an updated\, exciting version that will for sure pull at your heartstrings.” \nContact:\nBridgette Borzillo\nCaZo Dance Theatre\nwww.cazodance.com\nmoc.liamgnull@ynapmocecnadozac\n619-322-4178\n###

Far from a somber occasion\, Día de Los Muertos is a lively event filled with colorful traditions that blend indigenous beliefs with Spanish Catholic influences. In this Glow in the Dark dancing extravaganza\, Viva Performing Arts Director & Creator Julie Gallego blends ancient traditions with contemporary adaptations\, ensuring that Día de Los Muertos remains a dynamic and enduring cultural celebration.

SUMMARY:Arizona Arts Live presents Frontera (Tucson)
DESCRIPTION:Frontera\nDana Gingras / Animals of Distinction\nNovember 1\, 2024 at 7:30pm\nTen dancers break through boundaries in the U.S. premiere of this visually striking spectacle featuring live music and mesmerizing lighting. Presented in Centennial Hall. \nIn an era where the advancing frontier of knowledge and control monitors our movements\, defines our identities\, and gathers our data\, the human body has never been so visible. Increasingly\, surveillance technologies blur the border between public and private in an attempt to orchestrate our place in the world. \nIn Frontera\, choreographer Dana Gingras tackles these borders to answer the question: what space remains for the unruly\, ungovernable body in a world consumed by monitoring technologies? Watch ten dancers navigate a spectacular world of light in a visual conversation between choreography\, architecture\, and live music by Fly Pan Am and field recordings by post-rock musician Dave Bryant (Godspeed You! Black Emperor). \nhttps://arizonaartslive.com/frontera \nDeveloped with support from the National Arts Centre’s National Creation Fund.
