Additionally\, Brad serves as the DataArts research liaison for the Arts Commission and worked on developing the inaugural cohort of the AZ Creative Communities Institute. Brad comes from a theatre background\, and is very grateful to be able to travel around Arizona for his work\, connecting arts and culture leaders\, community members\, and artists statewide.State of the Arts in Arizona: the Arizona Commission on the Arts will be providing an overview of operations at the state arts agency\, advances in arts and culture funding and programming statewide\, as well as new grant opportunities offered by the Arts Commission for artists\, arts educators\, and arts administrators.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSTEVE ENGELHARDT\, BBA\, MBA\, Certified SCORE Mentor \nCorporate Vice President\, Retired \nPrivileged to have worked with literally thousands of businesses to improve their operations and finances. Primary career was sales of very of high tech products and software to the banking and financial industry.  Also worked for two third-party consulting firms that specialized in increasing profits and cost control for clients. \nVery skilled in teaching business owners and managers financial skills and how to “manage by the numbers.” Particular specialties are: sales metrics and forecasting\, hiring and developing successful employees\, writing effective proposals\, developing presentations and techniques for cost justification of major purchases. \nFormer bank holding company director and currently serves on several boards of a travel company\, semiconductor company and the East Valley Institute of Technology Banking School where he also teaches.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRULAN TANGEN\, DANCING EARTH\nAs a woman of color confronting disabilities post-cancer\, I create dances for the health of all beings. Life is marked by rituals – as our original theater – and I dedicate my life to performance becoming function ritual for transformation.Now ‘dreamvisioning’ as the Director/Choreographer of DANCING EARTH my work is made through living culture which is my research; working closely over years with diaspora of intertribal elders and community members in many locations with which I have a cyclical relationship. My process is thus the story of “we” – inter-generational\, multilingual\, inter- tribal convergence of artists\, culture-carriers\, farmers\, activists\, community members\, dissolving borders to move into collaborative practices that become dance forms embodying sustainability\, resilience\, and vitality as expressions of multi-perspectivist ancestral worldviews of collaborators as well as myself.My current project cultivates a new vision for Indigenous Futurities\, a youth led vision for life. It emerges from a space in between\, the marginal zone for those who don’t fit in one place or another\, which becomes a liminal threshold place of limitless potential and the weaving of relations between disparate ways of being\, “between underground and skyworld”… \n“I am so happy to meet with dance community of Arizona\, in an informal conversation that reflects the past\, present and future of Dancing Earth within the ecosystem of dance of the Southwest. I look forward to sharing conversation about our differences and commonalities\, like desert plants finding unique ways to thrive.”

DESCRIPTION:Scorpius Dance Theatre’s ANIMAL\nAn original show created by Scorpius’ Director Lisa Starry\, ANIMAL is inspired by her love of animals and passion for their well-being. This show for all ages was first presented in 2017 and was a huge hit with audiences. It explores the relationship we have with animals\, as well as their social interactions\, physicality and movement.
