DESCRIPTION:This class series will consist of 4 weekends in the practice of listening\, moving alone and together through kinesthetic awareness\, growth\, connection\, and renewal through movement. \nMen and women of all ages (professional dancers\, mature movers\, inexperienced dancers\, and folks that love to move in a meditative and spontaneous way) are invited to participate in this class. The use of playful and deep imagery and improvisation is incorporated and the classes build on each other. \nSRT reveals the natural grace in every human being and taps into transforming states of  consciousness which awakens the Dance within and guides us in the practice of letting go; letting go of stress\, letting go of unnecessary holding in our body\, letting go of preconceptions about what is supposed to happen\, letting go of fear of awkwardness\, letting go of the belief that we somehow don’t have the “right body”. \nSaturdays from 10:30-11:30am running October 5-November 2 at The sYnapse at Studio Y. $60 for all 4 classes in the series.

DESCRIPTION:GRUPO DE RUA\n\n\nOctober 12\, 2024 at 7:00pm\n\n\n Tickets \nIt’s hip hop but not as you expect! Beltrão has revolutionized the genre\, deconstructing the dance form as he grapples with the changing politics of his native Brazil. Expect high jumps\, head spins\, somersaults\, fast kicks and twirling twists. His intense choreography with GRUPO DE RUA is characterized by physical urgency and an analytic understanding of music and space. \nResponding to the radical shift to the right\, he ponders what happens when a political scene creates disharmony\, polarizes the people and limits freedom and equality. The artistic community provides glimmers of creative resistance and uses art to drive change. \nHis previous work “Inoah”\, was an eye-popping\, jaw-dropping\, gravity-defying blitz of artistic brilliance. He combines sophisticated stage craft with contemporary dance and raw hip-hop which casts a spell over audiences worldwide.

DESCRIPTION:This class series will consist of 4 weekends in the practice of listening\, moving alone and together through kinesthetic awareness\, growth\, connection\, and renewal through movement. \nMen and women of all ages (professional dancers\, mature movers\, inexperienced dancers\, and folks that love to move in a meditative and spontaneous way) are invited to participate in this class. The use of playful and deep imagery and improvisation is incorporated and the classes build on each other. \nSRT reveals the natural grace in every human being and taps into transforming states of  consciousness which awakens the Dance within and guides us in the practice of letting go; letting go of stress\, letting go of unnecessary holding in our body\, letting go of preconceptions about what is supposed to happen\, letting go of fear of awkwardness\, letting go of the belief that we somehow don’t have the “right body”. \nSaturdays from 10:30-11:30am running October 5-November 2 at The sYnapse at Studio Y. $60 for all 4 classes in the series.
