SUMMARY:No Frills Dance Happenin’ Tucson
DESCRIPTION:ZUZI! Dance presents its Spring\, biannual No Frills Dance Happenin’. A variety of performers throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona come to share fresh and innovative works from various stages of the creative process. The works range from serious to silly and some are presented here for the first time. \n“No Frills” has been in existence for 16 years and is an important venue for local choreographers to show new work or work in progress. ZUZI! “No Frills” has been described as an open mic for dance and is a unique opportunity to showcase work and perform in a relaxed setting. As the name suggests\, there really are no frill…..no fancy lights\, no fancy sets….just dancers\, choreographers\, experimentation\, and a great show! \n“No Frills” concert has come to serve two important purposes. First\, it has become a popular venue for youth performers\, schools and youth choreography. Second\, it has continued to be an important venue for local choreographers to showcase new work\, which can be quite experimental in nature. \nThis showcase will truly be about the process and will be an impressive showing of our local talent.

SUMMARY:RODEO CITY WRECKETTES JCC\, Tucson
DESCRIPTION:The Rodeo City Wreckettes dance troupe is a premiere senior tap dance group in Tucson. They dance to show tunes\, Westerns\, and songs from the ’50s. The 13 women in the group perform for retirement homes\, nonprofit events and private parties. Carol Ross is the group’s director and choreographer. During costume changes\, her husband John Ross entertains the audience with short\, humorous monologues. \nThe majority of the Wreckettes are in their sixties and seventies\, but instead of yielding to the expectation that they should be slowing down at this stage in life\, tap has enabled them to get in touch with their own natural rhythm. Through dancing together\, Ross’ Wreckettes have found friendship\, vitality and fulfillment. \nWith their sequined costumes and their joie de vivre\, the Wreckettes will win your hearts. They are living proof that you are never too old to learn something new. \nTHIS EVENT IS A PRIVATE PERFORMANCE. PLEASE CONTACT CAROL ROSS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND.

DESCRIPTION:[nueBOX] Presents\nCONSTRUCTED/DECONSTRUCTED\nFriday\, May 5\, 6-10pm\nPhoenix Art Museum First Fridays \nThe Phoenix Metro area is rapidly changing and expanding\, creating opportunities for development and improvement to city infrastructure. Estrella Payton (visual artist)\, Felix Herbst (sound artist)\, Jordan Daniels (Movement Artist)\, and Steven Redondo (Movement Artist)\, will bring the elements of their artistic mediums into the Phoenix Art Museum in a project to construct/deconstruct layers of Phoenix\, physicality\, and navigating spaces. Phoenix in its history and urban composition around the Rio Salado. Physicality of those who might want to be in this unique southwestern metropolis. Navigation of Spaces as they relate to the infrastructure of the Phoenix Art Museum specifically. This project is intended to sensorially  investigate the history of development around and in relationship to the Rio Salado and the light rail system: two intersecting and parallel entities that have the ability to link and divide. \nwww.nuebox.org/pamfirstfridays
