DESCRIPTION:All levels are welcome.  For those students with aerial experience\, this class offers the next step to advancing their skills.  This course will concentrate on the importance of fluidity while dancing on the trapeze as well as how to incorporate dance on the floor.  In addition to learning aerial skills\, students work on building spatial awareness\, trust & cooperation. DESCRIPTION:Dansense-Nrtyabodha is joined by Silambam Phoenix and Fine Arts Association of AZ to bring to Phoenix SAMAVESHA\, an evening-length work by dance stalwarts from India\, Gurus N. Srikanth and Aswathy Nair. SAMAVESHA is an exploration of the complexities of gender identity and gender hierarchy in the stories of Shikhandi and Brihannala from the Indian epic Mahabharata\, through the idioms of Mohiniattam and Bharatanatyam. DESCRIPTION:In this class we will look at the internal landscape of the body and how it relates to the external landscape of our world. We will move to encourage lightness to our felt (kinesthetic) movement experience to explore and expand.  Be prepared for some deep listening to the rhythms of the body and playful\, spontaneous explosions of movement.  Bring your curious self!  Open to a new way of inhabiting your precious body.  This class holds the space for nurturance in safety and trust.  All participants are required to read our safety guidelines here. \n  \nAll  Classes run from 10:00am to 11:30am on Saturdays.

DESCRIPTION:Sol Rhythmz is the third event of the Sol Motion series within the Arizona State University Dance Department. It focuses on the dance traditions of the Senegambia region and the emergence of the dance forms within the diaspora\, specifically looking at the Caribbean. Participants will take a journey through dances from West Africa to the Caribbean. This day-long event features workshops\, a panel discussion and a social hour. SUMMARY:Youth Aerial Trapeze: Spring Session
DESCRIPTION:All levels are welcome.  For those students with aerial experience\, this class offers the next step to advancing their skills.  This course will concentrate on the importance of fluidity while dancing on the trapeze as well as how to incorporate dance on the floor.  In addition to learning aerial skills\, students work on building spatial awareness\, trust & cooperation. This exhilarating event will take place on April 18 and 19\, 2024\, at the picturesque Verde Valley School in the Village of Oak Creek\, located at 3511 Verde Valley School Rd\, Sedona. \nEnjoy a full evening celebrating the Arts\, starting with a Piano bar and art gallery opening at 6:00 PM.  The Arizona Dance Coalition will host pre-show reception with light refreshments. Seating for the dance performances begins at 6:30 PM\, with the shows kicking off promptly at 7:00 PM. \nThe Sedona Dance Festival promises two evenings filled with captivating performances from eight esteemed dance companies\, each bringing their unique flair to the stage. Audiences can expect an array of dance styles ranging from traditional to contemporary\, celebrating the rich diversity of the Arizona dance scene. \n \nHighlighting the festival’s lineup are two special guest appearances\, adding an extra layer of excitement to each evening’s program.
