DESCRIPTION:In this class we will look at the internal landscape of the body and how it relates to the external landscape of our world. We will move to encourage lightness to our felt (kinesthetic) movement experience to explore and expand.  Be prepared for some deep listening to the rhythms of the body and playful\, spontaneous explosions of movement.  Bring your curious self!  Open to a new way of inhabiting your precious body.  This class holds the space for nurturance in safety and trust.  All participants are required to read our safety guidelines here. \n  \nAll  Classes run from 10:00am to 11:30am on Saturdays.

DESCRIPTION:Flagstaff’s Annual Spring Dance Festival is collaborating with ArtX and will present two evenings of dance on May 17-18 at 7:30pm at the Clifford E. White Theater on NAU campus. \nThe Arizona Dance Coalition (ADC) will be hosting a pre-show opening reception with light refreshments on Friday\, starting at 7:00pm. A girl named Coppélia sits on her balcony all day reading\, speaking to no one and a boy named Franz falls deeply in love with her and wants to marry her\, even though he is already engaged. His fiance\, Swanhilda\, sees Franz throwing kisses at Coppélia. Swanhilda soon learns that Coppélia is actually a doll that belongs to Doctor Coppelius\, the mad scientist and she decides to impersonate the doll\, in order to win the love of Franz. Chaos ensues\, but all is soon forgiven. Swanhilda and Franz make up and get married. The marriage is celebrated with several festive dances. \nGet tickets.

SUMMARY:Flagstaff Spring Dance Festival: Cycles
DESCRIPTION:Flagstaff’s Annual Spring Dance Festival is collaborating with ArtX and will present two evenings of dance on May 17-18 at 7:30pm at the Clifford E. White Theater on NAU campus. \nThe Arizona Dance Coalition (ADC) will be hosting a pre-show opening reception with light refreshments on Friday\, starting at 7:00pm. Sign-up to receive ADC’s E-Blast and/or join as a new member and get a $5 Starbucks Gift Card! \nCYCLES is a collection of dances from Canyon Movement Company\, Human Nature Dance Theatre\, Ahlers Dance\, CaZo Dance Company\, Daniel Cunningham\, Step’s Junk Funk\, and other community dancers. Several of the dances were developed during a month-long choreography workshop hosted by Canyon Movement Company through their ARPA funding from the City of Flagstaff. It is a reflection on the places we’ve been\, where we are now\, and where we are going in the future. A full and fun evening of dance exploring the cycles in our individual and collective lives. \nSuggested donations ($10-20) can be made online\, at the door via Venmo and cash.
