DancEstrella – Our Family Tree / Avondale
DancEstrella, the student performing company of Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC), will perform their latest production, Our Family Tree. This event is open to the public and admission is free.
Our Family Tree performances are at 3p.m. and 7p.m. on both Friday, April 28th and Saturday, April 29th at the EMCC Performing Arts Center
Our Family Tree features ten Practicum dances (final projects choreographed by graduating dance majors); collaborative dances and solos by DancEstrella members; a new work by Janaea Lyn McAlee with live music by composer David Anderson, and a reconstruction of Brahms Waltz Op.39 #15, a classic repertory work by modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan. Guests attending the show are invited to stay for a brief post-performance conversation with the company immediately after each performance for feedback and community engagement.
