Description: Two performances are scheduled in celebration of the 20th anniversary of National Tap Dance Day. The professional show is Saturday, 7 pm, with Guest Artist Rusty Frank. Emcee is magician/comedian Norm Marini. Passes are required for the free community show on Sunday at 3 pm. Tucson’s best tap dancers will share the stage with guests from Phoenix and a collection of ethnic percussive footwork dance groups that will represent the “roots” of TAP dancing — a style of dance “made in the U.S.A.” Details about the performances, master classes and big band swing dance grand finale can be found on the website at www.dancinc.biz/ntd. Accommodations are discounted for participants at Starr Pass Golf Suites (deadline April 21). Questions, call Krystyna at 520/743-1349 or email zib.cnicnadnull@anytsyrK.
If you’re not going to be onstage but own tap shoes, bring them and join us at the end of each show for the Shim Sham.
Saturday, May 22, 7 pm Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door, $10 for students with I.D. & members of the Arizona Dance Coalition. Comedic magician Norm Marini will emcee. Rusty Frank and a collection of professional and advanced tap dancers will perform. View the bios page for a complete list (ongoing updates). Call PCC CFA Box Office: 520-206-6986 or EMAIL
Sunday, May 23, 3 pm Securing a pass for this free community performance by Friday, May 21, is required to insure you have a seat! Otherwise you take your chances at the door. Last year everyone who waited did get seated. There are only 425 seats available and passes will be limited per dancer/family. We need to leave seats for the community outside our circle to expand our reach and build an audience for future performances – or inspire future tap dancers. To secure a pass, call Krystyna @ 520-743-1349 or EMAIL
