After a successful developmental run in May, Waves of Resistance is making its Phoenix premiere!

In 1763, a group of colonists in America threw tea off of a slew of British ships in Boston Harbor to protest the taxes levied on them by a government across the sea.

In 1930, thousands of Indians gathered across the country to march to the sea shore and make salt in protest of import taxes, state sanctioned violence, and centuries of colonial rule and exploitation which could no longer be denied.

But what brings the ordinary citizen to take up the cause of liberty? What drives them to lift their head and say “no more”?

Waves of Resistance is a comparative production where we travel back in time and see our forebears, Americans and Indians, wake up and make valiant efforts to pursue liberty and freedom.
