(two blocks south of Speedway, off Main).

FREE and Open to the Public.

S.P.Ar.C.C. (South Park Art and Culture Center) and Barbea Williams Performing Company Present celebrate the Kwanzaa Holiday Tradition with “Where We Come From” an educational and entertaining arts and culture carnival that promotes parent/child interaction, learning and values, socialization beyond competition. A variety of hands on and audience participation activities that include, Cultural Face Painting and Make-up, Hair Designs from a cultural perspective, Old Fashion Carnival Games Made Even Older, Drum Rhythms of the Old Mali Empire, African, Aztec, Mexican cultures, and Old World Children’s Games, Various Dance Performances and Workshops, Storytellin’, and Crafts made from your prizes. This community-based, inter-generational Arts in Education project has four artistic and cultural components: Arts education, Literary, Performing and Visual Art.
