Choreography: George Balanchine

Three ballets by The Father of American Ballet, George Balanchine, including a work never before performed by Ballet Arizona. Ib Andersen is one of a handful of artists worldwide entrusted by the Balanchine Trust to stage these masterpieces.

Emeralds (Ballet Arizona Premiere)

Music by Gabriel Fauré

A Ballet Arizona premiere, Emeralds evokes the elegance and romanticism of 19th century ballet.

Theme and Variations

Music by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky

This ballet, with its glorious choreography and glittering costumes, recalls the grandeur of classical ballet.

Square Dance

Music by Antonio Vivaldi and Arcangelo Corelli

This lively ballet combines the spirit and verve of an American folk dance with the precision and techniques of classical ballet.

Ib Andersen is one of a handful of artists worldwide entrusted by the Balanchine Trust to stage these masterpieces. The performances will be May 2-5 at Symphony Hall. Tickets: Ballet Arizona Box Office 602-381-1096, Mon-Fri noon-5:30 pm, 2835 E Washington St, Phoenix.
