‘No Frills’ – A Dance Happenin’ Tucson

November 3, 2017 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm MST

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 7:30 pm, repeating until November 4, 2017

ZUZI! Dance presents the fall edition of its biannual No Frills Dance Happenin’. A variety of choreographers throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona come to share fresh and innovative works from various stages of the creative process. The works range from serious to silly and some are presented here for the first time.

“The ‘No Frills’ concert has come to serve two important purposes,” says ZUZI!’s Director, Nanette Robinson. “It has become a popular venue for showcasing youth performers, schools, and youth choreography and it continues to be venue for local choreographers to take creative risks with new work.” The show has been described as an open mic for dance and is a unique opportunity to perform in a relaxed setting. As the name suggests, there are no frills—no fancy lights, no fancy sets—just dancers, choreographers, and experimentation.

No Frills Dance Happenin’ will highlight youth choreographers Friday night, November 3rd, at 7:30 PM, and adult choreographers showcase Saturday, November 4, at 7:30 PM in the newly renovated Scoundrel & Scamp Theater at the Historic Y at 738 N. 5th Avenue in Tucson. Tickets will be available at the door for $10 for adults and $5 for youths under 18. For more information, visit or call 520-629-0237.
