Phoenix Ballet Golden Swan Intl Gala PHX

March 3, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 11:30 pm MST

$50 – $150

For ONE night only Phoenix Ballet presents the “Golden Swan International Dance Gala” a red-carpet performance at the gorgeous Orpheum Theatre celebrating some of the biggest names in dance from around the globe. Under the direction of Slawomir Wozniak, Phoenix Ballet is known for bringing big names to the Valley of the Sun while producing its own stars locally.

6 pm performance $50-$150 with discounts for ADC members (30%), military, children, students and seniors.

9 pm post-performance reception $100 / purchased separately from gro.tellaBxineohPnull@divaD, or call 602-53-5600.

Among the stars taking the stage will be Prima Ballerina Adiarys Almeida and her partner Taras Domitro from Cuba; Rasta Thomas, founder of Bad Boys of Ballet and Rock The Ballet; Jillian Davis and Andrew Brader of Complexions Ballet in New York; Zherlin Ndudi, International Principal Dancer originally from Ukraine;  multiple award-winning dancer from The Washington Ballet, Brooklyn Mack; brothers Slawomir Wozniak Jr. and Michal Wozniak, originally from Poland; Maki Onuki, Prima Ballerina from Japan and many more.

Directly following the performance attendees will also have an opportunity to meet the stars: guest arts, dancers, director Slawomir Wozniak and more while enjoying dinner, drinks and dancing at the Renaissance Hotel.

Featuring LOVE duets from famous ballets, this experience makes the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day! You’ll see excerpts from the most popular ballets in the world including The Sleeping Beauty, Flames of Paris, Don Quixote, Le Corsaire and Esmeralda. In addition, dances will feature excerpts from contemporary pieces including choreography by award-winning American choreographer, Dwight Rhoden and world premieres by Rasta Thomas and Phoenix Ballet’s own resident choreographer Albert Blaise Cattafi (Cirque du Soleil, Bad Boys of Dance).

“After living in Arizona for over ten years, I have seen the dance community grow and blossom. To celebrate the beauty of this rising art form and my love for it, I have invited top names to come share the stage with local dancers for this special night,” said Slawomir Wozniak, Artistic Director of Phoenix Ballet. “We will celebrate life, dance, and just being human. I personally invite you to join us for this inaugural international celebration of dance and experience the first event of its kind in Arizona.”

In addition, Phoenix Ballet’s official school, Master Ballet Academy (MBA), will have a presence at the gala, as the students rival professional adults technically and artistically. MBA is one of the most recognized ballet schools in the country, recently voted #4 in the world by “A Ballet Education.”  In 2017 MBA won both “Outstanding School” and “Outstanding Teacher” awards at Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP). With students holding multiple medals, awards and honors internationally, watching them perform is an experience to be treasured.
