Just in time for a beautiful spring! our mainstage production for the spring will feature works by faculty and guests and delight the audience as we move with the joy and hope inspired by the art of Dance! We continue our celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre with innovative works from some of today’s most sought-after choreographers.

“Dance Springs Eternal,” a focal celebration continuing Stevie Eller Dance Theatre’s 20th anniversary, blends tradition with forward-thinking artistry. This season, we spotlight Alvin Ailey’s monumental “Streams,” a legacy piece that encapsulates the essence of modern dance, accompanied by Miloslav Kabelac’s dynamic score. We enhance this milestone with Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s innovative choreography, a reflection of her vibrant Latinx heritage, further enriching our diverse program.

The concert also features premier works by faculty alongside 1st and 4th-year student cohorts, fostering a unique collaborative spirit within UAZDance. “Boléro,” a testament to our emphasis on professional development, showcases a partnership between Duane Cyrus and Tamara Dyke-Compton, echoing our commitment to career readiness through performance opportunities that have reached audiences from the Tucson Symphony Orchestra to New York City’s Joyce Theatre.

Completing our lineup, “Variations” emerges directly from our technique classes, highlighting the versatility and breadth of our dancers’ skills. This array of performances, from classical to avant-garde, celebrates the enduring legacy and vibrant future of the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre. Join us for “Dance Springs Eternal,” where we continue to push the boundaries of dance and celebrate 20 years of excellence and innovation.
