Description: Free Isadora Duncan Lecture and Master Class
Guest Artist Residency with Janaea Rose Lyn

* Date: Feb. 11, 2013
* Time: 12:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
* Location: Grand Canyon University, Building 9
* Hosted By: College of Fine Arts and Production

Grand Canyon University’s College of Fine Arts and Production is proud to feature Janaea Rose Lyn, third generation Isadora Duncan dancer and historian, at a guest artist residency.

Isadora Duncan (1877 – 1927) pioneered modern dance by eschewing point shoes and corsets for bare feet and tunics to investigate an organic origin of movement in the torso. Based on the rhythms of nature, the dance appears spontaneous but requires great skill and a specific technique. With a sense of energy and grace that radiates from the solar plexus, Duncan Dance is both a philosophical approach to movement and a distinctive style of dance.

Previous dance experience is recommended for the master’s class.
This residency is free and open to the public.

RSVPs are suggested but not required. To RSVP, contact Susannah Keita, Director of Dance:
