What is Dancing Classrooms???
Dancing Classrooms was launched in 1994 as a not-for-profit program, teaching ballroom dance to the fifth grade students of participating schools.
Dancing Classrooms was featured in the 2005 award-winning documentary Mad Hot Ballroom and the 2006 Motion Picture, Take the Lead (with Antonio Banderas).
During the 2010-2011 school year Dancing Classrooms has served 42,000 children in 509 schools in 25 cities… And now it has come all the way from New York City to PHOENIX, ARIZONA! Local Phoenix schools are already benefiting from this program.
Dancing Classrooms has been hailed as an effective program which builds self-esteem and interactive social skills as it improves children’s confidence and ability to relate to other students, teachers, parents and the community through the teaching social dance. Dancing Classrooms is about more than dance; it is about Transforming Lives One Step at a Time!

If you are interested in bringing Dancing Classrooms to your school and want more information, please contact Teresa Paul Daie, Site Director at moc.liamgnull@eiadluapt or check out both www.dancingclassroomsphoenix.org or www.dancingclassrooms.org
