“Those shapes, those lines, that amazing ability to fuse flesh and blood bodies with incorporeal music—the aesthetic of Jessica Lang Dance is pure gorgeousness.” –

Hailed as “a master of visual composition” by Dance Magazine, Jessica Lang seamlessly incorporates striking set and costume pieces and transforms the language of classical ballet. With more than 75 works to her credit for some of the most prestigious dance companies in the world, Jessica Lang is a rising star.

This year Jessica Lang was the recipient of the Bessie Award in recognition for the elegant works created on her newly formed company of dancers at the Joyce Theater in her transition from freelance choreographer to artistic director.

“This award is very personal to me because, as one of my teachers at Juilliard,
Bessie Schoenberg forever changed my life.”
– Jessica Lang
